Welcome to the Dean’s Blog! Cooper Medical School of Rowan University is a newly-accredited allopathic medical school located in Camden, New Jersey. The school was formed in 2009 through a partnership between Rowan University and The Cooper Health System, bringing together two longstanding southern New Jersey institutions with a historic commitment to the region. CMSRU is committed to providing a humanistic education in the art and science of medicine, with core values including a commitment to diversity, personal mentorship, professionalism, collaboration and mutual respect, civic responsibility, patient advocacy, and life-long learning.
This blog is designed to give a very personal voice to that mission – allowing our Founding Dean and others to share our thoughts on our own growing institution, medical education and training, the landscape of healthcare and healthcare reform, and our very own city.
